Cory Siegler
Crown, 2016, Framed

This unique drawing echos visual patterns usually found in textiles and quilt-making. The work is precise, and the composition has a clear and harmonious structure. Working in fabric in her quilted works, this drawing continues Siegler's interest in traditional quilting techniques and colonial American textiles. Drawing inspiration from a variety of sources, Siegler cites the quilts of Gee's Bend, Amish quilting, traditional Korean Pojagi, Japanese Sahiko, Indian hand quilting, and Bauhaus textiles and weavings as inspiration for her work.
