Cory Siegler
Home, 2013

This unique wall hanging is made from found fabrics from the artist's studio and home. Siegler has employed traditional quilting techniques to form a diamond pattern reminiscent of colonial American textiles. Drawing inspiration from a variety of sources, Siegler sites the quilt's of Gee's Bend, Amish quilting, traditional Korean Pojagi, Japanese Sahiko, Indian hand quilting, and Bauhaus textiles and weavings as inspiration for her work. Simple and understated, this work calls only to settle in the home.
