This print was originally an artwork, “Figurative,” published by Graham in Harper’s Bazaar between two advertisements, one for tampons and the other for women’s lingerie. Graham’s artwork is associated with the conceptual; early on he focused on printed matter to create an array of text based work playing heavily with cultural connotations. Graham has worked in numerous mediums spanning his five decade career, including writing, photography, video, installation, and architecture. Dan Graham, b. 1942, is an American conceptual artist.
