This poster was printed on the occasion of Picture Room’s third Featured Artist show with artist duo Dexter Sinister in 2014. The Picture Room graphic identity, designed by Benjamin Critton, nods to the rectangle as the historic mode of art-making, using classical proportions to enact various iterations of the Golden Ratio.
Dexter Sinister, f. 2006-11, was a publishing collaborative based in New York City. Opened by David Reinfurt and Stuart Bailey, Dexter Sinister’s approach to creating work was a comment on the world of contemporary commercial publishing and the prevailing excess of the current art market.
Benjamin Critton, b. 1983, is an American artist and graphic designer. He is a graduate of the Yale School of Art, and lives and works in Los Angeles.
