Aidan Koch
Elements for Printing: Blue Silk, 2014, Framed

*Only available framed. Please inquire for photography of framed work. Well known for her elliptical comics, Aidan Koch makes work that emphasizes tone over narrative and seeks affinities between objects, scenes, and moods. Koch frequently builds compositional tension by interspersing silence and space with moments of contact. In this composition, designed to be reproduced onto silk, she uses a cool, opaque blue to draw together shape, line, and art-historical iconography. Aidan Koch, b. 1988 Seattle, WA, is an artist and graphic novelist. She received the 2012 Xeric Grant, and was a finalist for the Oregon Book Awards, Literary Arts.
