Aidan Koch
Elements for Printing: Handkerchiefs, 2014, Unframed

Well known for her elliptical comics, Aidan Koch makes work that emphasizes tone over narrative and seeks affinities between disparate objects, scenes, and moods. This composition, designed to be reproduced, includes many of Koch’s characteristic subjects, such as female figures, insects and moths, birds, vases, art objects, and roman numerals. It brings to mind a flash sheet used for tattooing, which is another element of Koch’s creative practice. A. Koch, b. 1988 Seattle, WA, is an artist and graphic novelist. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Pencil Unique 7 × 5 inches unframed
