Well known for her elliptical comics, Aidan Koch makes work that emphasizes tone over narrative and seeks affinities between objects, scenes, and moods. Her 2016 zine The Parallelogram Box explores the subject of interiors through drawings and short pieces of descriptive writing. This composition, a collection of elements printed in the zine, approaches interiority as “a place that is constantly changing, that is constantly being reinterpreted”—and a place whose objects occasionally gaze back at us.
A. Koch, b. 1988 Seattle, WA, is an artist and graphic novelist. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
