Handmade and each unique, Claire Duport’s textile forms are inspired by pojagi, Korean wrapping cloths typically produced through patchwork handstitching. The forms were made using a technique of layering and cutting away that Duport developed in order to retain the translucency of the light cotton fabric. The series expresses a theme of gender duality; this piece represents the male dynamic.
