Gerard Malanga

Gerard Malanga was a poet and photographer who was also known for his time spent working as Andy Warhol’s silkscreening assistant between 1963-1970. He photographed many of the musicians, artists, models, and personalities who spent time at The Factory during this period. In High School of Industrial Art, Class of 1960, Malanga draws on his skill as a writer and documentary photographer. The pairing of text and photograph here offer insight into both personal narratives and cultural histories.

Gerard Malanga, b. 1943, is an American poet, photographer, filmmaker, curator, and archivist. He currently lives and works in New York City.
