Designed by the artist, this poster was created for Lawrence Weiner’s 1997 exhibition at Yvon Lambert gallery in Paris. The show’s title translates to “How to catch a thief with a thief.” The X and Y elements allude to chromosomes and their variant combinations that determine gender.
Lawrence Weiner, b. 1942, Bronx, New York is considered a key figure of the Conceptual Art movement. He lives and works in New York and Amsterdam.
