Often working with a constrained color palette, Leah Horowitz’s work exists in the space between the abstract and the narrative. In this risograph print, the artist took inspiration from the representation of space in comics.
Themes of solitude and nature are recurrent in Horowitz’s work. Her printmaking practice helps her carve out a space within the frantic city for her voice to evolve.
While she was born in New York City in 1988, Leah Horowitz does not have much memory of living there. She grew up in Katonah, NY and spent some time in Baltimore in her early adult years. She has been living in Queens since October 2016.
