Blanca Guerrero
Papeles, 2019, II, Unframed

Using kozo and mitsumata fiber washi paper made during a residency in Shikoku, Japan, the Papeles series is an exploration of what Guerrero describes as the “diffusing elements in nature.” Shifting effects of opacity and transparency, precision and expression are achieved through the layering of different paints and fiber textures. Guerrero uses this delicate balance between chance and intention to express our perception of transient elemental phenomena, such as fog, smoke or the feeling of being submerged in water. Blanca Guerrero b. 1990, is a Spanish visual artist. She has lived in New York City for most of her life and now works in Brooklyn. Handmade washi, acrylic and collage on paper Unique Signed 8 x 8 inches unframed
