This is the exhibition poster for the 1983 show In Other Words: Artists’ Use of Language, Part II at Franklin Furnace in New York. Curated by conceptual artist Robert Barry, the exhibition featured pieces by conceptual artists who often work with text and language. Peter Downsbrough, Sol Lewitt, Louise Lawler, and Lawrence Weiner were among some of the participating artists who contributed prints, films, installations, paintings, and sculptures. Franklin Furnace, founded in 1976, is an alternative nonprofit organization devoted to the promotion and support of avant-garde art. Robert Barry, b. 1936, is an American conceptual artist.
