This meticulously handwritten page from Swann’s Way, volume one of Marcel Proust’s In Search of Lost Time, is one of an ongoing series derivative of Ha’s re-reading of the novel. Every time Ha comes across a page she previously notated or marked, she copies the page verbatim. Drawing from the theme of memory prevalent throughout the famed seven part novel, Ha explores the differences in her first time compared to her current rereading.
Yen Ha, b. 1974 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, is an author, architect, and visual artist. In 2001 she founded the architecture firm Front Studio. Ha lives and works in New York.
